April 2009

Uncle Micah's brother is a pitcher for the Florida Marlins and we got to watch him on TV on Auntie's Golden Birthday (24 on April 24th!). It was such a fun evening and Josh did a great job pitching. How cool is it that we (almost) know someone famous!?! (we haven't had a chance to meet him, but maybe someday!)

I have pretty much mastered the art of sitting. If I lean too far for a toy I topple over, but I am strong enough to push up with my arms and can even scootch myself forward if I have something to push against with my feet! I am going to be on the move in no time...look out Mama!! (PS--my green onesie says "Sometimes Stinky, Always Sweet"...it's very accurate!)

Easter! April 12, 2009

Well, I'm pretty sure I got gypped on Easter this year. I had heard about a big Easter Bunny that leaves a basket of treats while you're sleeping....all I got was a teething ring and it wasn't even wrapped. Next year that Easter Bunny better make up for it by leaving me something Extra special (hint hint Mama)!

Mama, Daddy, and I headed to St Henry's for the 8:30 Mass on Easter morning because Daddy had to work at 11:00 that day. After Mass, Mama and I jumped in the car and flew down to Woodlake Lutheran to go to church with Grandma, Auntie Sheri, Uncle Micah, and Uncle Brian (Uncle Bobby had to work too!). I was pretty good all morning, but got really hungry mid-service at Woodlake, so Mama and I had to go hang out in the hall so I didn't disrupt the service. We got to sing my favorite Easter song twice that day..."Jesus Christ Is Risen Today"!

After church we headed over to Grandpa Bob and Grandma Diane's to celebrate with the Hofflanders, Great Grandma Jan, Uncle Dave, and some of Grandma Jan's friends. I got LOTS of kisses and hugs from my family and we had a little photo shoot of me in my two Easter outfits. We had dinner at Grandma Kelly's house, but I was so tired, I had to take a little snooze while everyone was getting ready to eat.

I also got to help Mama dye Easter Eggs this year. I can't wait 'til I can get my hands in that dye next year!!

Big Girl Food

On Saturday (4/4) Mama and Daddy decided it was a good day to introduce me to big girl food-rice cereal! I started out pretty happy.....

But then started to rethink things a little bit.....

And decided that maybe this isn't my new favorite food....

But the more I ate, the better it got, and I decided that maybe I'd give it another try a different day.....

Some Greats

Last week my Great Grandma and Papa, and my Great Aunt Sheri came up to meet me for the first time. We had so much fun and I never got sick of hearing how cute I am!! We went to dinner at Gastoff's Sunday night for some German food and the man with the accordion played some songs for me. Thankfully most foods don't upset my tummy, so I didn't mind that Mama was chowing down on brats! We also spent some time shopping and Old Grandma (she named herself until I can talk and come up with a name for her) and Aunt Sheri made sure I am set for this summer with some new outfits and a sun-hat. How is it that I am only 5 months old and already far more fashionable than my Mama!? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they come back to visit this summer for more play-time (and maybe get a round of golf in since it was too cold while they were here)!

This is a very special 'four generations' picture. Do I come from a line of good lookin' women, or what!?! Here I am with both my Great Grandmas on Mama's side.

In other 'great' news, I've continued to work on my sitting skills as well as my spitting skills! I think it is so fun to stick out my tongue and "ppthtttttt"! I've also started sucking on my bottom lip so I constantly have a wet chin...Mama thinks teething is in the near-ish future. My most exciting news is that I can roll over from my back to my stomach! I had to show off a little while my 'greats' were here. We were all hanging out in the living room chatting and I decided the attention should be turned back to me, so I did a lil' roll (and then did it a few more times just to prove that the first time wasn't an accident!).

Minnesota Zoo (3/21/09)

Here I am during my first trip to the Minnesota Zoo. I wore my zebra outfit so I'd fit in with the animals :) Mama and Daddy have a membership for the year, so we'll get to go often this summer! Here I am in front of the dolphin pool, which is why I look blue. Since it's floor to ceiling glass I could see everything! I really liked when the dolphins swam right in front of me.

Here I am taking a little snooze while we were in "Russia's Grizzly Coast". You might also notice that I'm sitting up in my stroller....I'm a big girl!

Here I am checkin' out some fish. There was a scuba diver in there feeding them!

I furrow my brows like this when I'm a little confused AND I'm showing Mama that she is losing the battle and I will suck my fingers if I want to!!

We had a very fun day at the zoo and I can't wait to go back!
